The border agreement between Norway and Russia has been prepared and is ready to be signed.

The agreement on maritime division and cooperation in the Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean will be signed in Murmansk 15 September 2010.

The two countries announced that they had reached an agreement in April after a 40 year long dispute.

"I'm happy that we're able to sign it so soon. We're making history: we have reached an agreement in the most important outstanding matter between Norway and Russia after so many years of negotiations," says Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.

The signed agreement will be presented to the Norwegian and Russian parliaments for approval.
