Bristow helicopter group has won a key search and rescue deal for Norway's offshore sector.

New service contracts announced by Bristow worth a total of US $2 billion in revenue have been announced by the Houston-based helicopter group and it includes a new deal to provide Search and Rescue (SAR) services offshore Norway

Bristow is to supply three new Eurocopter EC225 helicopters for the SAR role that are due to start operating in September 2014 for up to five years, with options for another five..

Also the company has won an extension to an existing Norway contract using four S92 large helicopters, over seven years with options for another five years. In addition, the company has landed a deal to supply on S92 for the UK North Sea, which commenced work this month, and another EC225 which starts operating in August for a minimum of two years.

Overall, the latest deals involve a total of 20 large aircraft in multi-year deals which Bristow says are expected to generate in excess of $2 billion in revenue.
