Dutch based Damen Shipyards has delivered two new fast crew supply vessels to offshore operations and management group EDT Offshore.

The EDT Leda and EDT Nefeli both feature the same Sea-Axe bow design developed by Damen to cut sea-slamming by up to 75%, according to the shipbuilder, the boats, which are expected to provide high levels of passenger comfort during long crews change voyages to platforms, are equipped with luxury seats with entertainment systems and Internet access.

“For Nefeli, we sat down with Damen to adapt the basic design to our needs and discuss the options offered by Damen,” explained EDT managing director Darios Melas. “In addition to the dynamic positioning and fire-fighting systems, we’ve outfitted the vessel with extra accommodation for clients and their representatives and extra luggage compartments,” he added.
