Petrofac books Iraq Badra project with Gazprom

British-based energy services group Petrofac has won a Us $330 million deal from a subsidiary Russia's Gazprom for the the Badra oil field development in Iraq.

Petrofac has secured an engineering procurement and construction contract for the 18-month development deal, which covers detailed design, engineering through to start up of the Badra field central processing facility. Final completion of the project is set for 2015.

Work will be executed through Petrofac's Engineering, Construction, Operations and Maintenance (ECOM) division. “is Petrofac’s third notable project award in Iraq and also marks our first lump-sum EPC project in the country,” stated Marwan Chedid, chief executive of Petrofac ECOM.
