Storebjørn drilling starts
Aberdeen-based Dana Petroleum and partners including operator Det Norse have spudded on the Storebjørn prospect in PL450 in the Norwegian North Sea which marks the first of four planned wells by Dana offshore Norway this year.
Drilling at Storebjørn is being carried out by the Maersk Guardian rig in block 7/12 offshore Norway and will the first of four wells in which Dana will participate in the next nine months after the company admitted it was less active on the exploration front last year.
The Storebjørn well is designated 7/12-13 S, and is the first in the licence area after it was awarded to Det norske in the APA Round in 2007.
