Tullow Oil has tapped Technip to supply flowlines for the phase 1a development of the Jubilee deepwater oil field offshore West Africa.

Previously Technip carried out offshore installation for the phase one development of the Jubilee field in Ghana in 2011 and now operator Tullow has elected to use the contractor for a second phase of development.

Under two new deals which together are worth €100 million, Technip has been contracted to deliver and install a flexible riser,  two rigid flowlines along with 11 spools or jumpers, and it will also execute installation of two subsea manifolds and five kilometres (3.1 miles) of umbilicals for the project.

Technip offices in Paris, Houston, and in Accra in Ghana will manage the work and flexibles will be fabricated at its spool base in Le Trait, France. Offshore installation operastions are due to take place in the second half this year, using the Technip vessels Global 1200 and the Deep Pioneer.
