Two year extension for West Aquarius
Semi-submersible West Aquarius has won a two year extension to its existing drilling deal with ExxonMobil operating offshore Asia.
Currently operating in Asia for Exxon under a world-wide contract, rig owner Seadrill disclosed today that the West Aquarius is required for another two years.
“It is anticipated that the extension period will primarily involve operations in the North Atlantic area. An estimated period of 106 days will be required to mobilize the rig and prepare for operations which will be in addition to the firm extension period,” Seadrill declared.
Contract value for the extended period is put at US $422 million, including $35 million of mobilisation and operational preparation costs.
Also Exxon has an option to extend the contract for a further two years.
